Two strains of killer flu confirmed in Bexar County

SAN ANTONIO – More than 900 people in Texas have died from either influenza or pneumonia this season with more than 100 of those coming from Bexar County.

A report from the Texas Department of State Health Services says Bexar County is joined by only five other counties who have positive tests for both strands of the flu.

The other five counties with confirmation of both strands are Nueces, Brazoria, Galveston, Angelina and Tarrant counties.

According to the report, activity for influenza has begun to increase throughout the state.
