The royal couple has decided to keep their birth as private as possible and avoided doing a press moment on the steps together of the Lindo Wing like the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have with their three children. The Sussexes said they would be “celebrating privately as a new family” after the birth, and they will release photographs of the baby in the days following, rather than introducing the world to their baby in front of crowds of royal fans and the world’s media. Prince Harry said: “We’ll be seeing you in two days time as a family, to be able to share it with you, so everyone can see the baby.”
The couple first announced Markle’s pregnancy on October 15, shortly before their much-publicized tour of Australia and New Zealand. “Their Royal Highnesses have appreciated all of the support they have received from people around the world since their wedding in May and are delighted to be able to share this happy news with the public,” the pregnancy announcement Instagram post read at the time. Since then, Markle has kept a busy schedule, flying everywhere from New York City to Morocco during her pregnancy.
